There are three bakeries that we use.

When UP there is the bakery on the Kali almost half way between Rainbow (Yannis) and Zoe’s. The bread just out of the oven in the morning is one of the great joys of Sými. There is also a great selection of pies with a range of fillings - spinach & feta is a favourite.

When DOWN there is the bakery just over the “harbour bridge” where the wood fired ovens produce lovely bread, pies and croissants. Be early as pies are a staple breakfast for many locals on their way to work and the harbour bakery attracts the visiting seafarers.

Also down is Zoë’s sister’s bakery. As you reach the true bottom of the Kali Strata hang left and it is on the right. They do lovely small pies almost like mini pasties and we have taken these with us in our backpacks on a day out. She also has a lovely selection of cakes.

And on the town square is the Panormitis bakery that is well worth a visit as is the one at Panormitis itself.

Have fun.

Sorry Mr Dean we didn’t mention supermarkets.

When up we use Sortiris the supermarket on the road between the Village Hotel and the Kali Strata and when down the one nearest the clock tower. There is also an amazing one just opposite the International taverna.

Yasou.
